The former Royal Capital of Montenegro is located high above sea level in a bowl at the foot of the Lovcen National Park. Home to the building of the former embassies and the Palace of King Nikola, the town is a relaxed place to explore and see the architecture of a Montenegro quite different from the coastal regions. Visit the National Musuem or the Cetinje monastery, where you can see ancient Christian relics including the alleged right hand of John the Baptist. Cetinje’s history exudes from the buildings and the visit can also be extended to nearby Lovcen National Park.
